Professionally, I've spent the bulk of my 15+ year communications career working in the digital and social tech space; most recently at Meta (parent company of Facebook and Instagram) helping businesses use insights about their customers to more effectively communicate with them across digital, social and mobile platforms.
Why does this matter? I believe that a similar approach can be adopted by township leadership to improve communications with their residents - ultimately putting residents' needs first and driving more community-informed decisionmaking by the Board.
My passion for open communication is also reflected in my community service efforts. I am an appointed member to the newly revamped Communications taskforce for Cannon Township, where I am working alongside local leadership to find ways to enhance resident communication efforts. I am also an elected board member of the Lakes Elementary PTO, currently serving as the VP, Communications and Social Media Lead. Here too, my volunteer efforts have centered around addressing communication needs. In this case, driving awareness among parents about how PTO inititaves are positively impacting students and staff at Lakes.
My family’s story started in Cannon Township a year and a half ago when my husband Gabe and I became new homeowners here. We fell in love with the country setting that reminded us of our own childhoods, the focus on an active outdoor lifestyle and an excellent school system for our three young children.
I am grateful for the opportunity to raise my family here and call Cannon Township home. And together, we all can partner in bringing a broad, community-centered perspective to the Board.
